Vetsys Pharmaceutical
Pharmacological Action: Amitraz, as a broad-spectrum cermifuge, has good effect on acarid, tick, fly, and louse etc. Its action is mainly contact toxicity, and together with stomach toxicity and intake toxicity. To some extent, its insecticidal action is related with its inhibition on the monoamine oxidase, while the latter is the metabolic enzymes participating the amine neurotransmitters of the nervous system in tick and acarid etc.
Amitraz's effect causes the superexcitation in Blood-sucking arthropod insect, and leads to that the insect could not cling to the surface of animals and fall off. This product produces insecticidal effect slowly. It could generally cause the falling off of louse and tick from surface of animals in 24 hours after administration, and acarid in 48 hours. The effect of one dose can last for 6-8 weeks, which protects the animal from the invasion of ectoparasites. Furthermore, it also has good killing effect on Varroa mite and Tropilaelaps clareae.
