Product Description
Lithium Heparin
Heparin lithium is a commonly used blood anticoagulant, widely used in clinical testing. Its mechanism of action is that heparin can bind to antithrombin III, significantly accelerating its inactivation of serine proteases such as thrombin, thereby blocking the coagulation cascade reaction and effectively preventing blood clotting.

It is usually used in conjunction with inert separation gel in vacuum blood collection tubes. After centrifugation, the separation gel forms a physical barrier between plasma and blood cells, achieving rapid separation. This sample can be used for direct instrument detection and remains stable for 48 hours under refrigeration.

Product Advantages
Heparin lithium is the preferred anticoagulant for blood ion detection due to its unique chemical inertness. It does not interfere with the determination of key ions such as potassium, sodium, and calcium. It restores the true concentration of blood ions to the greatest extent possible, ensuring accurate detection compared to EDTA or heparin sodium.

Applications
  • Emergency Biochemistry: Detecting potassium, sodium, chloride, and calcium ions.
  • Plasma Biochemistry: Suitable for liver function, kidney function, and blood glucose tests.
  • Blood Gas Analysis: Rapid anticoagulation without impacting acid-base balance.

Note: Not suitable for blood routine counts or white blood cell classification due to impact on cell morphology.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the primary use of Heparin Lithium?
A: It is mainly used as an anticoagulant in vacuum blood collection tubes for clinical biochemical and electrolyte testing.
Q: Why is Heparin Lithium preferred for electrolyte testing?
A: Because it is chemically inert and exists as a non-detectable lithium salt, it does not interfere with the determination of ions like potassium and sodium.
Q: How should the product be stored?
A: It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.
Q: What is the delivery time for orders?
A: It depends on the inventory status. If the product is in stock, shipment is typically arranged on the same day the order is placed.
Q: What are the available packaging options?
A: Regular options include 20kg/barrel and 25kg/barrel, though smaller bottle specifications are also available.
Q: Can Heparin Lithium be used for blood routine counts?
A: No, it can affect the morphology of blood cells and is therefore not suitable for white blood cell classification or routine counts.
