Hetastarch (HEC) is a natural polymer material derived from cellulose. Through a controlled reaction process involving etherification and specific chemical additions, Hydroxyethyl cellulose is produced. It appears as a white or light yellow powder that is non-toxic and tasteless.

One of its primary advantages is its ability to dissolve quickly in both hot and cool water. It offers excellent characteristics in thickening, dispersing, emulsifying, adhesion, stabilizing, water retention, and film forming.
